Basra celebrates World Theater Day

In the midst of a mass wedding and the atmosphere of joy witnessed in the hall of the building of the province of Basra, the Cultural Center of the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, the Basra branch, organized a celebration of the International Theater Day in the presence of a large gathering of playwrights, academics, intellectuals, artists, prominent figures in the visual cultural scene and the heads of the Artists Syndicate in the branches of Babylon and the Holy Karbala.
The ceremony opened with a tribute of the Holy Quran and played the national anthem presented by the Choir Troupe of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Department of Musical Arts, which commemorated the celebration of the most beautiful musical choices and young sounds whose creative presence constitutes a bright future of music in the city of Basra, which was the supervisor, training and leadership of the professors of the department, assistant teacher Mohammed Kazim, Assistant Professor Qais Odeh and Dr. Ali Najm Mashari, Head of the Department of Musical Arts.
The celebration included words, the first of which was a joint welcome speech. Dr. Abdul Karim Aboud Odeh, Director of the Cultural Center, Mr. Fathi Shaddad, President of the Artists Syndicate, Basra Branch, followed by the speech of the International Theater Day and the Iraqi Theater Center's speech, delivered by Dr. Ali Al-Shaibani, Head of the Holy Karbala Artists' Syndicate, and the speech of Basra on World Theater Day, was delivered by Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Thabit.
The celebration included the presentation of the plastic painting painted by a group of plastic artists simulating the celebration with colors and brushes, which produced in the moment a wonderful painting.
The ceremony concluded with honoring his planet of creators in the field of visual theater, who submitted works and studies that confirm their communication with the theatrical creative act, namely the leading theatrical artist Yassin Saleh Al-Aboud, the academic theater artist, Dr. Ali Al-Hamdani, and the young theatrical artist Ali Essam. Finally, she honored the promising theatrical artist Saja Yassin.
The Director of the Cultural Center, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Abboud, mentioned this ceremony that this historical city was the mother of art, literature and culture through its play to the whole world as it celebrates World Theater Day.
