At the University of Basrah, A scientific study at the University of Basrah prepared by Professor Dr. Dunya Ali Hussain at the College of Science with a team of researchers at the Ministry of Environment, University of Baghdad, and the Marine Science Center. The study, published in Biodiversitas journal, classified within Scopus, showed the accumulation of heavy metals (iron, nickel, chromium, cadmium, lead, and zinc) in six types of aquatic plants in Al-Hawizeh Marsh in southern Iraq.
