The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basra organizes a course about “Technical Applications of the Unified Accounting System using
ERP”
the aims of the course to support trainees and students with sufficient information to prepare accountants, according to the requirements of the modern market based on Electronic accounting systems.
The course, which was presented by the lecture Ahmed Abdel Karim Mohamed and the lecturer Nael Jaafar Ali, included the basic tasks of the accountant when establishing the company by knowing the internal structure of the company, the nature of the company’s activity, the method of preparing the chart of accounts (the chart of accounts) for the company, and a theoretical aspect of the unified accounting system: the concept, and objectives, the working mechanism, the theoretical aspects of the concept of ERP, the scheme, the objectives, the types, and practical applications of the ERP system through the introduction of accounting entries for one of the companies.
At the end of the course, the presenter's recommendation was on the necessity to include modern accounting programs within the curricula of the
specialized colleges
