The publication of a teaching book at the University of Basra on the spatial expansion of the city of Basra
A teacher at the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, Professor Dr. Salah Hashem Al-Asadi, issued a book entitled
(The spatial expansion of the city of Basra) a study in the geography of cities.
The book, which included 236 pages divided into four chapters, shed light on the stages of the city's growth in the light of specific morphological data. This was the first chapter, while the second chapter referred to the factors of spatial expansion. The third chapter examined the field of determinants of spatial expansion, directions for that expansion, and planning efforts. The last chapter deals with areal expansion and affects the city and its surroundings, as well as the future of expansion in the light of demographic changes and economic activities, and by predicting that statistically.
