The College of Science at Basra University organized a seminar about (Spatiotemporal variations of air pollution over Al Nasiriya City, Iraq) for the graduate student (PhD) Mohsin A. Mashkhool. The study aimed to estimate the concentration of some gases include CO, CO2, SO2, O3, PM10 and hydrocarbon in air. Also, to find out the spatiotemporal variation for pollutants gases in Al Nasiriya city. In addition, determine the concentrations of heavy metals such as Zinc (Zn), Lead (Pb), Nickel (Ni), copper (Cu) and cadmium (Cd) in two types of genus leaves (Phenoix dactylifera and Ziziphus sp) and soil in Al Nasiriya city in southern of Iraq.
However, the study were recommendations to conducting further studies for all gases air polluting in different places in Nasiriya city, in order to determine the most polluted areas and improve the air quality there. Furthermore, the Ministry of Oil and Oil Refineries in Iraq should be improve the quality of fuel used in the car, because vehicle emissions are one of the air pollution sources. In addition, developing methods for controlling emissions from factories and industries, because it is one of the main causes of air pollution. Last but not least, approving environmental laws and legislations that would reduce the emissions of in factories.
