A master thesis in the Basrah Medical College discussed the molecular characterization of virulence factors for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Basra hospitals. The research presented by the researcher Ban Abdul Amir Al-Khafaji aims to study the virulence genes and determine their genetic sequences including (MecA, Sea, Seb, Tst, Hld) in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) by using the (PCR) technique to determine the genetic sequence. The research concluded that infection with methicillin-resistant germ is widespread among patients and in the hospital environment, but it was found at the end of the research that methicillin resistance was coming from the medical and nursing staff of hospitals, as they carry the largest percentage of methicillin-resistant germs. The study was able to compare five new genes that were addressed in the current study with the standard genes taken from the NCBI site. The genetic mutations and the genotype of Iraqi bacterial isolates were determined and it is the first Iraqi study that deals with these five genes and their relationship with Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus.
