The thesis has been discussed at the department of English, College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra.
Topic & Abstract: The present study entitled , Investigating Literary Competence at the University Level: A Case Study of Literature Teaching Modules. It aims at investigating students' literary competence and the importance of the concept literary competence in understanding literary texts. Thesis outline: The thesis falls into five chapters. Chapter one, two and three make up the theoretical part, whereas chapter four constitutes the practical side. Five closes up with certain conclusions, recommendations and suggestions for further research studies.
Conclusions: The study has come with certain conclusions based on the statistical analysis of the study sample of the College of Arts ,College of Education ,University of Basra that they have an acceptable and encouraging level of literary competence.
