Mr. Ahmed Albohamed (Head of Basra office of the United Nation’s World Food Program (WFP)) had visited the Deanship of the College of Agriculture to build the basis of a productive, long-lastig partnership.
During the meeting, an overview of WFP interventions was presented and the increasing interst from WFP side in the southern part in Iraq generally and In Basra particullary was also discussed.
It was mutually agreed that this first meeting will be just a start to exploring new areas of collaboration where the college of agriculture and WFP support each other in responding to the community needs in livelihoods, climate change adaptation, research and data access, and other areas related to food security and agricture.
