| Dr. ((Abd al-Amir Abdullah al-Musawi)), Dean of the College of Nursing, participated in an electronic seminar on academic teaching problems and teaching methods prevailing in Iraqi universities, by reviewing Basra University as a model, which was organized by the Center for Continuing Education with a group of Basra University’s teaching staff. The symposium aimed at uncovering the teaching problems that result from the interactions of the elements of the educational process, solving them scientifically, and upgrading them in light of the current situation. The symposium included a presentation of the results of field surveys (questionnaire) of the opinions of a group of students and professors about the effectiveness of the elements of education (teaching, student, curriculum, college administration and work climate) and their interaction to expand the perceptions of the university student's approval, as well as a review of some teaching methods prevailing in other Iraqi universities. The participants in the symposium recommended the necessity of developing a new strategic plan for education at the university that matches the needs of the labor market in terms of specializations and commensurate with global developments, as well as setting up a deliberate training program for the development of faculty members to benefit them from the great development in technology. |
