University of Basrah held a seminar about the effectiveness of curcumin .
College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah held a seminar entitled (Evaluation of the effectiveness of curcumin compared with semi-electronic conductor within the protein transthyretin (TTR) using molecular anchoring and molecular dynamic) . The seminar was presented by Dr. Rita Sabah Elias The seminar included the definition of curcumin and the active compounds attributed to the effectiveness of turmeric .Curcumin is highly effective against various types of diseases.The activity includes (the maintenance of the cardiovascular system, the maintenance of the immune system ,the nervous system, and as anti-cancer, to oxidize bacteria and fungi .Furthermore it has ability to reduce cholesterol and blood glucose ).
The seminar explained that despite the effectiveness of curcumin broad biological, but its therapeutic effectiveness is limited due to the lack of absorption through the GIT , the speed of excretion outside the body and its instability in the basal and neutral environment .The aim of the seminar is to attempt to change both the solubility, stability and effectiveness of turmeric.
