A doctoral thesis in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra discussed the effect of special exercises in developing some mental and motor abilities and the effectiveness of defensive performance among volleyball players in specialized schools in Dhi Qar Governorate.
The thesis presented by the researcher (Kazim Abdul-Mohsen Khalaf) and under the supervision of (Prof. Dr. Muhammad Awfi Radi), its importance was demonstrated in that the game of volleyball is one of the group games in which there are many basic skills and divided into defensive and offensive skills, the offensive skills are those that are controlled by the attacking team. With formation, style, speed and direction for each offensive situation.
The researcher called for the need to pay attention to the development of mental processes in a balanced manner with the development of defensive or tactical performance during educational and training curricula, taking into account conducting field tests through matches in order to obtain real values that represent the real level of the player and conducting a similar study on the relationship of mental processes and motor abilities with the level of effectiveness Offensive performance and its comparison with the current study.
