The lecturer at the College of Nursing at Basra University, Assistant Professor Dr. ((Sajjad Salem Issa)) participated in a doctoral thesis to discuss the postgraduate doctoral student ((Fakhr Salman Sabbar)) in Family Medicine, the Arab Board tagged with the title (Factors affecting a woman’s decision to choose a contraceptive method) The thesis aims to know the methods most used and commonly used in the city of Basra by women of childbearing age, and to know the demographic characteristics of women and their relationship to the method of contraception. The thesis concluded that there is a meaningful relationship between the method of contraception used and the demographic characteristics used in women. The method of contraceptive pills and the withdrawal method are the most common and the most used in preventing pregnancy. The thesis recommended creating an educational program for women of childbearing age about the different methods of contraception, and conducting educational seminars on the harms of using the contraceptive pill with age (elderly women). |
