The Continuing Education and Development
Center at The University of Basra organized an online workshop on measurement and evaluation in education.
The workshop, which is part of the teaching methods course for faculty members, aimed to develop the skills of teachers in preparing tests for students and realizing measurement and evaluation in light of modern educational developments.
The workshop presented by Dr. Amer Abdel Nabi Al-Abadi included a definition of assessment and evaluation, good test standards, functions and types of achievement tests, the difference between assessment and evaluation, as well as the steps for creating and correcting the test.
At the end, the workshop called for changing the prevailing concepts about exams and establishing question banks that include questions for electronic achievement tests for all disciplines that are useful in training those qualified to occupy the teaching profession due to the availability of question models that conform to the required standards
