The thesis presented by the student Esraa Abdel Salam Mohammed aims to evaluate the immunohistochemical examination of MMP1 protein (MMP1) in invasive breast cancer as a prognostic factor by studying its relationship with clinical and pathological factors (age, tumor differentiation degree and stage, estrogen and progesterone receptor status, HER2 lymph nodes involvement). The thesis concluded that the average age of women diagnosed with breast cancer was 51.7 years and the majority of patients were of grade II and stage II invasive breast cancer of unspecified type. The positive hormone receptor status showed a significant association with the MMP1 protein. MMP1 showed a higher positive correlation in breast cancer with lymph node involvement compared to breast cancer without lymph node involvement and this may be closely related to its invasion and spread. None of the following factors showed any relationship with MMP1 expression (age, histology, grade & stage of Breast cancer, immunohistochemical check for HER2 receptor and proliferation index Ki67)
