A seminar entitled the study of the concentrations of some organochlorine pesticides in the surface sediments of the Shatt al-Arab estuary hold at the College of Science, Department of Ecology.
The presenter Esraa Abdel Karim Taban, explained the aims to measure the concentrations of organochlorine pesticides in surface sediments along the Shatt al-Arab, in addition to measuring some environmental variables and showing the relationship of those variables with pesticide concentrations.
The study recommends conducting intensive studies in the Shatt al-Arab region dealing with the concentrations of pesticides in water and neighborhoods, as well as activating the role of laws that limit the import of pesticides without controls and preventing the fishing of fish and birds using pesticides
