Diploma research at the College of Medicine, University of Basra discussed the role of tranexamic acid, an antifibrinolytic agent that has proven efficacy in reducing deaths from postpartum blood loss. The research presented by student Fatima Muhammad Jassim aims to know the role of tranexamic acid, an anti- fibrinolytic agent, and its proven effectiveness in reducing deaths.The research concluded that a safe dose of intravenous tranicamic acid after vaginal delivery has an effective role in reducing blood loss without causing any severe side effects. The research recommended the necessity of evaluating the role of tranexamic acid in preventing post-bleeding Childbirth after normal vaginal delivery and that more clinical trial studies are needed to test appropriate protocols for the use of tranexamic acid in preventing postpartum haemorrhage after different types of childbirth. In addition to the need to adopt the use of tranexamic acid in health institutions to prevent postpartum hemorrhage after natural vaginal delivery.
