Organizing a dialogue session on the English language between the requirements of education and the translation process
The Cultural Center, University of Basra, in cooperation with the Sobat Cultural House and the Translation Department at the Faculty of Arts, organized a dialogue session on the English language between the requirements of education and the translation process in the university theater hall and in the presence of a distinguished elite of professors of the English Language Department and the head of the department with a group of students of the Department of Language and English and Translation Department.
The Director of the Cultural Center, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Abboud, stated that our mission stems from embracing all spectrums of society and in every social segment. The Cultural Center is the university portal from which brillness and creativity emerge. What is this activity represented in the session represents the act of introducing students to university professors who provided their educational and research experiences in order to uphold the name of the university, and the example of the lecturer Professor Hashem.
This dialogue session, which was supervised by Dar Sobat, in talking about an important issue of interest to translation students, finding solutions and knowing the obstacles. The session was moderated by the present, the training expert, Saif Al-Din Asaad, comes to enrich the students of the third stage of the translation department with valuable information.
The Director of the Sobat Cultural House, Suhad Abdul Razzaq, pointed out that this session aims to create a natural environment for the use of the language and its translation for the students of the Translation Department, which comes within the basics of the learning house through practice. We have chosen to be the University of Basra and its cultural center an incubator for this session.
