The thesis dealt with the study of self-compassion and social competence among a sample of university students according to the variables of gender (male/female), and specialization (human/scientific), and their number is (400) male and female students from Basra University for morning preliminary studies. Verification of the psychometric properties of the two scales of validity and reliability.
The thesis aims to identify self-compassion and social competence among university students, and to identify the significance of differences in self-compassion and social competence among university students according to the gender variable (male-female), specialization (human-scientific), and to identify the correlation between empathy Self-efficacy and social competence among university students, and identifying the differences in the relationship between self-compassion and social competence among university students according to the gender variable (male-female), and specialization (human-scientific).
The thesis concluded that university students enjoy a good and acceptable level of self-compassion, and that university students are characterized by a good and acceptable level of social competence, and self-compassion and social competence are two psychological components that complement each other in forming a good positive relationship for individuals in order to deal with different situations
The letter recommended the responsible authorities in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the university presidency, guidance centers and humanitarian organizations to hold educational courses and seminars at the university that would encourage and enhance students' self-compassion and social competence.
