The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Physics, organized a scientific lecture on (Quantum Mechanics Theory and Philosophy)
The lecture presented by the researcher (Ahmed Jassim Hammoud Al-Maliki) included quantum theory in the early twentieth century, such as the theory of relativity to solve problems that classical physics could not explain, and some of these problems can be summarized in the following:
Contradictions in the classical physics depiction of the shape of the atom at that time. At the beginning of the twentieth century, a conception of the shape of the atom was similar to the shape of our solar system, where the nucleus is centered in the middle and the electrons revolve around it. Its rotation around the nucleus, which will lead to its emission of electromagnetic radiation, which in turn results in the electrons losing their energy little by little and as a result approaching the nucleus until they collide with it in a fraction of a second, so the need came for a new theory that gives another model for the formation of the atom.
The purpose of the lecture
On the other hand, some researchers and scientists believe that there is a contradiction between philosophy and quantum mechanics, and this lecture is an attempt to bring ideas together between the two theories.
