On Tuesday, 23/11/2021, the Department of Translation at the College of Arts / University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled “Translating Legal Contracts.”
The seminar, which was presented by the Commercial Court Judge, Mr. Mustafa Shaker Ali, and the assistant teacher, Ahmed Faleh, aimed at introducing students interested in translating legal contracts and the problems facing the translator in our time. Topics related to the consequences of errors in legal translation were also discussed.
The seminar included a clear discussion of the correct legal translation mechanisms away from the use of electronic translation platforms.
In the seminar, the researchers called for communication between students of the translation department and the Commercial Court in Basrah to see the mechanisms they adopt.
