Board research at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, discussed the study of the level of cell-free fetal DNA in mothers with pre-eclampsia. The research presented by student Roaa Mostafa Mahdi aims to discover and estimate the level of cell-free DNA in women with preeclampsia in comparison with pregnant women with moderate blood pressure. The research concluded that the detection of quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Cff DNA) is easy and fast and thus provides important advantages such as non-invasive prenatal screening. Preeclampsia cases are associated with increased concentrations of Cff DNA in plasma compared to normal pregnancies, especially in complicated pregnancies with delayed fetal growth. The research also concluded that the increase in Cff DNA levels can be used as a predictive marker for early detection of pregnancy-related disorders, such as Preeclampsia, intrauterine growth retardation.
