The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized an online workshop on antibiotics, benefit or harm.
The workshop aims to raise awareness of the use of antibiotics and to prevent the development of resistant germs.
The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Wisal Odah Hassan, included some concepts and terms related to antibiotics and their definition as antibacterials and antibiotics, as well as a historical overview of the beginnings of their discovery and classification. The workshop included the definition of bacterial resistance, its mechanism of action, and how it develops and spreads among people, in addition to awareness posters showing how people adhere to preventive methods that limit the development and spread of bacterial resistance.
