The Master’s thesis in the Department of Geography/ College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, examined (constructing inferential maps of natural resources in the district of Ali al-Gharbi) by the student (Aziz Hussein Aziz)
The thesis dealt with identifying the quantity and types of natural resources in the study area and the representation of these resources through inferential maps to link the natural factors and their role in the abundance of these resources in the district of Ali al-Gharbi.
The study included an introduction, four chapters and appendices. The first chapter dealt with the techniques, methods and means of cartographic representation used in the study. While the second chapter dealt with the cartographic representation of the natural characteristics and their impact on the distribution of natural resources in the district of Ali al-Gharbi. As for the third chapter, it dealt with the cartographic representation of the characteristics of natural resources in the district of Ali al-Gharbi. The fourth chapter dealt with building inferential maps of natural resources in the district of Ali al-Gharbi.
The study concluded that there are a number of natural factors that affected the distribution of natural resources in the district of Ali Al Gharbi, the most important of which are the geographical location, the geological composition and the nature of the surface, as well as the influence of climatic elements.
