It also focused on the effects of harassment on mental, physical and psychological health, as it causes stress, anxiety, depression and difficulty in concentrating. The lecture also showed that the treatment is to restore self-confidence, increase awareness in the use of social media, be careful when using it, maintain the confidentiality of their personal information, and think about the future. The symposium included direct dialogues with students on the topic of electronic harassment and extortion
At the conclusion of its work, the symposium recommended the necessity of drawing up an intensive study by jurists of the penalties due against harassing and blackmailing persons, coming up with deterrent legal materials, activating the role of the media, holding periodic seminars in educational institutions, and activating the role of the Ministry of Interior and Communications.
Note that the date of holding the symposium coincided with the week of combating violence against women based on the directives of the Dean of the College and the Presidency of the University
