Assist Prof. Dr. Zainab J. Sweah, a lecturer at the Polymer Research Center, organized a seminar, entitled “Biodegradable polymers for Drug Delivery System and Packaging Technology”. She described uses of biodegradable polymers (industrial and natural) in the pharmaceutical industries in addition to their use in the fields of food packaging to reduce pollution caused by using non-renewable and non-biodegradable materials in various industries. In addition to highlighting the most prominent specifications of biodegradable polymers as well as, the factors affecting the rate of decomposition of these types of polymers.
