A delegation from the University of Basrah, headed by Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi and a number of department managers, accompanied by the Dean of the Technical Institution, Dr. Wathiq Ayoub Al-Ramadan, visited the General Iron and Steel Company. They were received by the company's general manager, Muslim Nasser Aboud and members of its board of directors.
The visit aims to support the efforts of the General Iron and Steel Company to move forward and expedite the operation of the factory by providing support by the University in all fields and in all the specializations it possesses.
The President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, expressed the university's readiness to sign a memorandum of cooperation between it and the General Iron and Steel Company, exchanging experiences and benefiting from university competencies and its specialized laboratories.
For his part, the Director of the General Company for Iron and Steel welcomed this visit and considered it a great support for the national industry and he hopes to sign a memorandum of cooperation soon in various fields such as training and exchanging experiences by conducting specialized workshops.
The visit included touring the departments of the General Iron and Steel Company, such as the departments of the rolling mill, steel mill, spiral tubes, and the power station, which is the largest station in the Ministry of Industry, as well as the analysis station.
