On Monday morning, 6/12/2021, a Ph.D. thesis entitled (Hassan Taqizadeh and his political and intellectual role in Iran 1878-1970) was discussed in the Department of History at the College of Arts / University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the student Majid Matar Abbas included four chapters. The first chapter discussed Hasan Taqizadeh's birth, upbringing, and knowledge building until 1905AD. The second chapter included Hassan Taqizadeh and his political and intellectual role in the Constitutional Revolution 1905-1911AD. The third chapter discussed the political and intellectual activity of Hassan Taqizadeh 1911-1926. The fourth chapter dealt with the political and intellectual role of Hassan Taqizadeh during the Pahlavi era 1926-1970.
The thesis aims to identify and provide a description and analysis of the political and intellectual life of Hassan Taqizadeh, one of the thinkers and politicians who were active in the constitutional revolution and the Pahlavi era.
The thesis concluded that, in addition to the political struggle, he participated in discussing the new political thinking and the necessity of establishing a Western-style state system in Iran. He praised the scientific and civilized achievements of the West in their various dimensions and was a well-known figure among Westerners.
The thesis recommended that as he was keen and diligent to advance the interests of his country in his political and intellectual work especially since he held several political positions, so we can benefit from his political experience for the benefit of our country.
