A scientific study at the University of Basrah prepared by Dr. Mona Hameed Al-Saeed at the College of Veterinary Medicine examined the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome induced by estradiol valerate in female rats.
The study which was done with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Karbala, published in the International Biosynthesized and Agricultural journal, and indexed in Scopus containers, Elsevier first quarter (Q1), SJR second quarter (Q2) and Clarivate (ESCI), showed the existence of a new method for treating polycystic ovary syndrome created by Estradiol valerate in female rats using silver nanoparticles biosynthesized by alcoholic cinnamon bark extract and compared with conventional treatment metformin.
The study included a presentation of the results that showed an improvement in reproductive rates in treated rats from 25% to 100% without side effects or toxicity for the biosynthetic nanoparticles. The biosynthetic silver nanoparticles also regulated the levels of reproductive hormones that contribute to the pathogenesis of the syndrome and returned them to normal levels after 30 days of treatment compared to the untreated rats.
