The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on the production of recombinant proteins using applications of bacterial genetic engineering and biotechnology (gene cloning technology).
The lecture aims to introduce the method of cloning genes and producing genetically engineered proteins and to address the most important challenges facing Iraqi researchers and postgraduate students.
The lecture, which was given by Dr. Bassam Karim from the Department of Pathological Analysis at the College of Science at the University of Kufa, who has a Ph.D. from the Crips Foundation, Sheffield University, included introducing the cloning technique using genetic engineering applications, how to conduct it in the laboratory, methods of stimulating the production of recombinant proteins and purifying proteins by chromatography methods.
