The Continuing Development and Education at the University of Basrah held a training workshop for gifted students in Basrah schools.
The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Khawla Hassan Hammoud, included a training lecture to know the psychological needs of gifted students and ways to meet them.
The workshop aims to help students identify their most important psychological, social, emotional, cognitive, and professional needs, identify the sources of meeting their needs and the role of the school to achieve them, and present programs that develop and refine their talents and encourage them to develop.
The workshop indicated that given the distinctiveness of the talented segment in their personal, behavioral, emotional, educational and social characteristics, they are often under psychological pressure, in addition to understanding their characteristics and developing effective methods in dealing with them and meeting their needs and developing the self-concept to be more realistic, positive, self-accepting and recognizing the elements of weakness and self-strength and working on developing them.
