The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on the design and manufacture of a biosensor using a quartz resonant crystal to detect mobile cancer cells (CTC).
The lecture presented by Dr. Raad Adnan Abdel Nabi included a general introduction to identifying blood-borne cancer cells (CTC), which are cells responsible for the death of more than 90% of people with cancer, and the most important methods used to detect these cells.
The lecture also dealt with clarification of the practical steps for manufacturing these biosensors because of their promising future due to their sensitivity, low cost and ease of manufacture.
