The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a training course on (the most important methods used in diagnosing the cycle of estrus in laboratory rats) in the presence of a number of professors and graduate students from a number of university faculties.
The course aimed to train postgraduate students and teaching staff on the diagnostic methods adopted in determining the different stages of the estrus cycle, based on physical examination, clinical signs and microscopic examination.
The course, which was presented by Dr. Nawras Abdulelah Alwan, Dr. Aliya Muhammad Khudair and Dr. Asmaa Sami Madhi, included two-day lectures on the stages of estrus, macroscopic and microscopic diagnosis in the laboratory, the method of sampling, as well as the methods used in diagnosis of all known types.
