Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion on the importance of religion in international relations according to the historical perspective.
The panel discussion, in which Dr. Faraqid Daoud lectured, aims to explain examples of irrational employment at the international level, which sometimes contribute to fueling the clash of civilizations instead of establishing the values of tolerance.
It analyzed the ideological thought of extremist religious parties and groups after the Arab Spring in 2011 in some countries that tried to employ their political presence, and the importance of recognizing the principle of separation between religious and worldly authorities, which the modern state system emphasizes.
