The Department of Geographical Studies at Basrah and the Arabian Gulf Studies Center organized a panel discussion entitled (The Concept and Structure of Small Industries in Al-Zubair District).
The panel discussion aims to shed light on the most important industries in the district, classify them according to several criteria, and explain the reasons for their survival to this day despite the large amount of imports.
The panel discussion, in which the instructor, Sondos Ahmed Abdel Qader, lectured, included addressing the most prominent problems that small industries including heritage industries suffer from, including the high costs of production from raw materials, the lack of craftsmanship, and ways to overcome them to ensure their survival and permanence.
The panel discussion recommended the need to provide government support to small industries to ensure that they do not disappear and to encourage the private sector through soft loans.
