The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Iraqi Blind Association in Basrah, organized a symposium on (People of Determination and the University’s Role in Rehabilitation and Development).
The symposium aims to prepare a scientific study to develop and rehabilitate people of determination and encourage them to actively integrate into the Basri community.
The symposium included a discussion of the proposal to establish a unit or center for the care of people with special needs in all Iraqi universities and the issuance of a legislative statement clarifying the special rights of this important segment with an evaluation of the stages of completion of memoranda of cooperation held between the University of Basrah and organizations sponsoring people of determination as a model, and a discussion of ways to develop and activate the work and mechanism of institutions and Civil society organizations incubator for the activities of people with disabilities.
