
During a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Maurizio Cricante and the accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed developing scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
Dr. Abid Al-Sahib confirmed that the Iraqi universities are proceeding in the aspect of coordination and implementation of the signed agreements with the Italian side, strengthening international partnerships with universities, especially Italian ones and raising the scientific research in global websites.
His Excellency highlighted that Higher Education’s institutions are characterized by their conscious response to the requirements of development and the achievement of comprehensive development goals.
Dr. Abid Al-Sahib renewed the Ministry’s keenness and its institutions on implementing the contents of the agreements between the two countries in the field of scientific cooperation in the field of antiquities, excavation, cultural and academic exchange programs, scholarships, study fellowships, scientific research projects, joint supervision and training and development projects.
For his part, Mr. Cricante expressed his deep appreciation for Higher Education’s interest in coordinating and providing climates of cooperation and openness to global educational systems, especially the (Bologna Process) system.
Mr. Cricante highlighted the Italian side’s tendency to increase scholarships for Iraqi students and to nurture levels of understanding and relations with an effective academic impact in the scientific and cultural exchange.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by Director-General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations and Director-General of the Research and Development.
