
The University of Basrah and the Northern Technical University signed an agreement for joint cooperation in the academic fields to raise the scientific and research level. The agreement was signed by the President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, with the President of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar.
The two sides agreed to unify the curricula of corresponding disciplines, exchange resources within common disciplines, establish training workshops in the field of teaching methods and quality of laboratories, organize scientific conferences, as well as cooperate in the field of e-learning and perform joint lectures in person or electronically within the specializations for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The two parties stressed the necessity of establishing a center for research and development of joint studies, achieving joint supervision and discussions for postgraduate students, as well as exchanging scientific visits for students, in addition to holding periodic scientific debates between students of corresponding majors.
The President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, welcomed this agreement, which will remain valid for three years, stressing the implementation of the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the necessity of twinning and joint cooperation between public and private universities.
