A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah discusses (the effect of three varieties of palm stallions and foliar nutrition on some chemical properties, active substances and productivity of date palm, Barhi variety) The researcher’s thesis (End of Qassem Muhammad), which was conducted in one of the private orchards in the north of Basra governorate, included date palm trees of the Barhi variety aged (6) years for the season 2021. The experiment included two factors, the first of which was the type of pollen, as three types of pollen were used (green, sesame, and pink) to pollinate palm trees, while the second factor was foliar feeding with nitrogen and phosphorous in three concentrations (0, 500 mg/l nitrogen, 500 mg/l phosphorous). The thesis aims to determine the quantity and quality of antioxidants, the detection of the active compounds and the amount of essential oil in the pollen of the three varieties, and the study of nutrition and metazzine effect on the qualitative and productive characteristics of date palm. The thesis concluded that the green and sesame pollen cultivars were significantly superior in their vital characteristics and their effect in giving the highest percentage of fruit set, which was reflected in the increase in the seedling weight of the palm tree. The green sheep pollen cultivar was significantly superior in most of the physical, chemical and physiological characteristics of the fruits. The foliar feeding process of date palm trees with nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers also affected the improvement of the characteristics of the fruits. The thesis recommended conducting studies on the effect of other pollen cultivars on pollination of date palm trees and their metamazine effects.
