
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah and the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Duhok signed an agreement for joint cooperation and twinning in the academic fields to raise the scientific and research level. The agreement was signed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Rahman Kazem Mohsen, with the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Dohuk, Dr. Luqman Omar.
Dr. Adel Jabbar Hussein, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Presidency of the University of Basrah, stated that this cooperation aims to open the horizons of scientific cooperation in all scientific and research fields, unify curricula for corresponding disciplines, exchange resources within common disciplines, as well as set up training workshops in all fields of teaching, and organize scientific conferences, symposiums and workshops. As well as cooperation in the field of e-learning and the performance of joint lectures in person or electronically within the specializations for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The two sides stressed the necessity of establishing joint research links, developing studies, achieving joint supervision and discussions for postgraduate students, as well as exchanging scientific visits for students and holding periodic scientific debates between students of corresponding majors.
The Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Dohuk, Dr. Luqman Omar, welcomed this agreement, which will remain in force for two years, stressing on the implementation of the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the necessity of twinning and joint cooperation between public and private universities.
