The teacher at the College of Education for Human Sciences participated in a workshop held by the International (Hussein Sisters) Association
The participation included a lecture presented by (Prof. Dr. Batoul Ghaleb Al-Nahi, Director of the Division of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the College of Education for Human Sciences), in which she dealt with (the phenomenon of suicide among young people and its attribution in Arab and Western societies, the causes and symptoms of this phenomenon, types and methods of suicide and methods of treatment)
The lecture discussed the psychological, social, legal and economic causes that cause suicide. The lecture also dealt with the methods of suicide and the symptoms that occur to the person trying to commit suicide, which are called pre-suicide symptoms. The lecture referred to the most important psychological methods for treating suicidal tendencies, which is to pay attention to the person’s condition by his family and present it to the doctor The specialist to draw up a treatment program for him, all members of the community surrounding the person with suicidal tendencies, starting with his family, friends, teachers, clerics, and the media)
The lecture showed (the role of the family as a fundamental factor in educating children and proper and sound guidance in developing sound psychological aspects through comprehensive Islamic education which is represented in enabling and consolidating the uplift of the heart and the birth of the living heart liberated from everything that links the individual to what prevents him from the Creator and the permanent heart presence with God and strong attachment to him. Belief in destiny and destiny and not resorting to ending life by suicide just because of the occurrence of any problem or obstacle to satisfying worldly needs)
It is worth noting that participation in this symposium is part of the guiding and preventive role that the university seeks through its specialists in this field to raise awareness for members of the Arab and Western Muslim community to contribute to promoting health standards
Psychological, especially among women, considering that raising children and caring for their health and psychological distancing them from everything that hinders the fulfillment of their growth needs in all its aspects, thus liberating children and immunizing them against suicidal thoughts and all anti-social tendencies
