On Thursday morning, 17/3/2022, a PhD thesis, entitled (The Poetry of Mufaddaliyat, a Study in Cultural Patterns), was discussed at the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts / University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the student Hani Nima Hamza included three chapters. The first chapter discussed the formation of cultural patterns for Al-Mufaddal Al-Dhabi, the second chapter included the social system, the third chapter focused on the patterns of truce and conflict.
The thesis aims to identify the poetry of the Mufaddaliyat and the cultural patterns that Al-Mufaddal has implied under that poetry.
The thesis concluded that Al-Mufaddal took from the poetry of Mufaddaliyat and from the apparent pattern (Teaching Ibn al-Khalifa) on Arab values such as generosity and courage, but he implicitly embraced under all of that an implicit pattern in satire and exposing the Abbasid authority.
