The College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah organized an art workshop for Arabic calligraphy as part of the annual festival of Arabic calligraphy and the formation of one dimension.
The workshop, which was attended by a group of artists and calligraphers and a number of young talents in this field, included the methods and techniques of Arabic calligraphy within practical lessons from professors in the field of Arabic calligraphy that discussed the secrets of calligraphy, its aesthetics, its types, and how to implement and decorate it.
The workshop included a lecture during which the calligrapher Ali Jassim presented the history and importance of calligraphy and accomplished wonderful models in Arabic calligraphy, showing its importance throughout history and explaining the most important transformations that accompanied this aesthetic art.
For his side, the Dean of the College, Dr. Ali Abdullah Aboud Al-Kinani, stated that this festival, in its second edition, is a sufficient indication to continue to encourage and motivate all Basra calligraphers.
Al-Kinani added that we invite artistic talents to participate in all exhibitions and workshops held by the college.
