The College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah held a scientific symposium on the Journey of Civilizations exhibition, which was held in the Great Exhibition Hall at the College of Fine Arts.
The symposium included lectures during which Dr. Hussein Abd Ali, researcher Abdel Aziz Al-Dahr and researcher Hassan Abdel-Shaheed shared the idea and objectives of the exhibition, introducing students to the experience of art and society, the most important techniques used, and asking questions to professors and artists.
They presented the idea of the exhibition by saying The Journey of Civilizations is an artistic experience searches the aesthetics of the Iraqi environment and recording the instantaneous moments and the daily scene, starting from Basra to Baghdad.
This experience represents a revival of the experience of the artists of the Impressionist movement when they chose to leave the studio hall to represent nature by making use of the energy of color, light and reflections as pillars to renew the artistic vision, as well as introducing the students of the College of Fine Arts to international art movements and Iraqi artists.
