A master’s thesis was discussed at the College of Agriculture at University of Basrah (An anatomical and biochemical study for two sexes of ornamental palms, Washington and Canary) The message of the researcher (Russell Ibrahim Ali) included Anatomy of the Washington and Canary palms The thesis aims to identify the most important anatomical and biochemical differences in the tissues of the stems, roots and leaves of both sexes. The thesis concluded that the canary palm is very similar to the date palm, while it differed with the Washington palm almost in most of the anatomical and biochemical characteristics. The thesis recommended conducting more studies on other genera and types of ornamental palms, oil palms and coconuts.
