The Department of Political and Strategic Studies at the Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (The Legal Protection of the Scientific Safety in Iraqi Legislation).
The panel discussion aimed at unifying concepts and legislation related to the scientific safety of plagiarism and referrals in writing scientific researches.
The panel discussion in which the instructor Hussein Khalil Matar lectured included introducing the concept of scientific honesty as one of the ethics that every academic researcher must adhere to in his scientific research and specifying the disciplinary and civil penalties for violating it, with an explanation of the gaps and shortcomings of the Iraqi legislation.
