The Department of Translation at the College of Arts held a panel discussion for postgraduate students entitled "How to gain experience in translation?" by the instructor, Dr. Ruqayah Sabeih Khalaf Al-Taie.
The panel discussion presented by Al-Taie in the Seminar subject, which Dr. Afaneen Abdel Wahed Yaqoub teaches, included an extensive discussion about organizations that the student or graduate can volunteer and work with them in order to gain experience in translation and a broader space of knowledge fields to employ in order to serve the labor market and enhance frameworks of cooperation with state institutions of all kinds through the translation process.
Al-Taie called for strengthening the role of volunteering in developing translation and communication skills, building a CV, and increasing the chances of getting work as a freelance translator in the future, at the local and global levels.
