Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the respected Mrs. Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud, a discussion took place on Thursday 17/3-2022, with the blessing of God, a master’s thesis tagged “Using deep learning and data mining algorithms to diagnose disease Diabetic Retinopathy” presented by the student (Noor Muhammad Jumaa) in the Department of Computer Information Systems to obtain a master’s degree under the supervision of Dr. Raeda Salem Khudair, which aimed to build a system based on strategies for early detection of diabetes that contribute to reducing the exacerbation of the disease and thus preventing vision loss or Blindness. After the extensive discussion that took place in the graduate studies hall in the college by the committee charged with discussing the thesis headed by Dr. Abdul-Hussein Mohsen Abdullah and the student’s defense, the committee recommended accepting the thesis with a very good and high grade with some minor modifications.
