The College of Science at the University of Basrah held the first geological scientific conference under the auspices of (GEO Basra-1).
The conference aims to expand scientific perceptions and open horizons of communication between researchers from different universities in Iraq by discussing several topics in the many fields of geology, providing a scientific space to view the scientific output of researchers, strengthening bonds between researchers and establishing channels of scientific cooperation.
The conference included the participation of research by researchers from various universities to confirm the solidness of education and the serious contribution to the global scientific research movement, as the participating research reached 70 local and international research.
The conference recommended the establishment of a channel that includes Iraq’s universities in order to announce scientific activities between geology departments within the Iraqi universities to enhance scientific research and build bridges of communication between researchers. The researchers also recommended the establishment of a scientific database that includes all geological disciplines, through which the information needed by students and researchers to develop solid scientific research is provided.
