The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture on kinesin proteins and related diseases.
The lecture, which was presented by Dr. Suad Ghazi Jaafar from Al-Nahrain University, aimed to shed light on the importance of kinesin proteins for important human diseases.
The lecture included an explanation of some diseases affected by a group of proteins that have a biologically important role in infecting kinesins called kinesin superfamily (KIFs), which also play an essential role in intracellular transport, for example, transporting chromosomes along microtubules during cell division, as these proteins move only when needed. However, dysregulation may contribute to uncontrolled cell growth due to early migraines chromatid segregation and cause serious disease.
