The master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences, Department of Arabic Language, examined the place and its transformations in the short visual story 2003-2013 by the student Umm Al-Baneen Waheed Oqal.
This thesis aims to shed light on the place and its transformations in the short visual story, and to achieve this goal, the researcher chose a group of 15 visual stories for a group of storytellers during the period from 2003-2013 for the purpose of conducting this study. It is followed by a preface in which we discussed the place and its importance in literature in general and in narration in particular, and the first chapter dealt with the types of places, which was divided into two sections: the first section, the familiar place, the second topic, the hostile place, and the second chapter dealt with the personality and its description of the place. The second is the secondary character and its description of the place, while the third chapter deals with the relationships of the place.
The thesis concluded that Basra formed a tyrannical presence in the stories, as places multiplied in order to show the tragedy of Basra, its pain and the biography of the occupiers.
